Baby-Situps
If you want to lose that tummy, but are low on funds do some daily sit-ups. You’re probably thinking, been there, done that. But, perhaps you haven’t tried it my way. Most people try to do like a hundred on their first try, and give up at three! You start off all motivated and ready to burn the....

Where’s My Caller ID?
Have you ever settled down to a good movie and your favorite brand of ice cream when she called. Of course she has issues, as usual. Somebody done did her wrong, as usual. And of course you have to sit there for two hours and listen to her complain not because you give good...

    I'm in a Meeting
So, someone asked you to do something that you just didn’t want to do. However, being the sweetheart that you are, you just couldn’t say no. You can’t lie, can you? Well, let me tell you what you can do. Tell them, you are in a meeting. What? What am I talking about? I’m talking about you of course. You want to stay healthy right? You want a little mental R and R, rest and relaxation. Well, you tell them you have a previously scheduled meeting. They don’t have to know your meeting with yourself. Watch your favorite show, cook your favorite food, or (dare I say it) go for a walk. Never do anything you don’t want to do, just to please someone else. When we are young, the first thing most of us learn to do is say “No”. Strangely enough, along the way all we can do is say yes to others, and no to ourselves. Well its high time you get your priorities straight because he best meetings are those you make with yourself.

  A Me Day
When life gets overwhelming its time to take a "Me Day." If you have not taken one yet, this is what you have to do: Make a list of your favorite past times, and forget about everything else. Go see that movie you wanted to, make up your own spa treatment: take a nice long bath, do your hair and nails, get some body lotions, and relax. Some people like to watch movies, or simply lay in bed and turn on the radio. What ever you do, do it by yourself. No people, no phone calls. External people and events can add to the stress in your life. If you take the time to devote time to your own needs, you can have a clear head and a calm disposition when dealing with the everyday trials of life.

Where’s My Caller ID?
Have you ever settled down to a good movie and your favorite brand of ice cream when she called. Of course she has issues, as usual. Somebody done did her wrong, as usual. And of course you have to sit there for two hours and listen to her complain not because you give good advice, but because you’re a good listener. All she wants right now is to hear her self talk, and believe that you are actually listening. Problem is, while she lets go of the tension, you assume it tenfold. Sometimes folks can call you in TMI Mode. Too much information for you to handle, but you somehow do, not realizing that you are getting stressed in the process. Never be too afraid to get off the phone, or just not pick it up at all. Sometimes the best thing for YOU to do, is let your friend handle it by his/herself. Friends shouldn’t stress out other friends. However, friends shouldn’t neglect their duties as friends. Its okay to listen sometimes, but when that listening crosses your personal space, its time to setup that Caller ID.

    Baby-Situps
If you want to lose that tummy, but are low on funds do some daily sit-ups. You’re probably thinking, been there, done that. But, perhaps you haven’t tried it my way. Most people try to do like a hundred on their first try, and give up at three! You start off all motivated and ready to burn the pounds, and then you just lose interest. Why don’t you try pacing yourself? An athlete, friend of mind devised his own sit-up routine, and it goes as follows. On your first day of exercising start off with just five sit-ups. You may not feel the burn, but that’s okay. All you want to do is get yourself started, and into a routine. On the next day and everyday after, add one extra sit-up. By doing so, you don’t feel the pressure of doing too many at one time, but you do feel the pleasure of increasing your tolerance/ skill level. If you do this everyday, before you know it you will be doing a hundred plus sit-ups with no trouble at all. Oh, be sure not to put this off. Just get on the floor and go! Actually starting your training, is the hardest part.

Every Woman should ....
The top 5 activities every woman should do

Once a year it is important to see your physician for a good review of your physical and emotional health. Annual gynecologic exams, including pelvic exams, are recommended beginning at age 18 or whenever a girl becomes sexually active. The annual exam is a time for you to tell your doctor about any changes you have noticed in your body overall and to ask questions about your health. It is also a time to set goals for the next year and plan your diet, an exercise program and, possibly, make some decisions about family planning or birth control. *Young Womans Health Forum: http://www.carilion.com/yw/html/anngynexam.htm
